Our mission is to foster vital farms, open spaces, and resilient communities.
Farms are disappearing. In many American’s imaginations, farms will always be a part of our landscape. But the reality is that those places we love and depend on for food have been declining for decades.
Between 2001 and 2016, 11 million acres of farmland and ranchland were irreversibly developed.
41% of those acres were taken from rural communities, not lost due to expanding existing development like cities and suburbs.
Farm Community Fund responds to this threat by cultivating a love of open spaces and healthy lifestyles.

Our roots
We got our start in 2014 when one pro cyclist noticed that rural farm vistas on his favorite training routes were being replaced by housing developments and strip malls. Tyler Wren’s idea to combat rural development harnessed the natural synergy between cyclists and farms to protect these places through the Farm Community Fund.
Our strategy
We foster a diverse network of initiatives on farms and within community organizations. Our grants fund projects that advance agricultural, recreational, and community uses of open space. By supporting the network of organizations that work with farms’ food-related and land-related opportunities we foster vital farms, open spaces, and resilient communities.
Our friends
The Farm Community Fund is supported in part by the amazing Farm to Fork Fitness Adventures athletes. Cyclists of all experience levels choose to ride with Farm to Fork Fitness Adventures because they relish beautiful views and fresh air, and enjoy sampling farm fresh foods along their route. These everyday athletes fundraise for and donate to the Farm Community Fund to support project grants.
